Dino PC Team Verdict
As somebody who has been team red for many years, the Ryzen 5000 series is one of the things I’ve been most excited for from AMD in a long time. The Ryzen 7 5800X is currently my go to CPU to recommend to anyone building a gaming PC. Packing 8 cores / 16 threads, a base clock of 3.8 GHz, and a boost clock of 4.7GHz it sits firmly in the middle of this generations line-up offering a nice price to performance ratio.
The 5800X is the perfect all-rounder for anyone building or upgrading a gaming PC right now. It will handle CPU intensive games such as Total War: Warhammer 2 and Cities Skylines with no problem, but is also a great companion for streamers and content creators using programs like Streamlabs and Premiere Pro. The cherry on top is that it’s easy for anyone to kick it up a gear using the auto OC function in AMD’s Ryzen Master utility.
